Outer Banks Must Do: The North Carolina Aquarium

Planning vacations sometimes isn’t as easy as it should be! That’s why we’re here to help you out with some of our go-to attractions in OBX. Of course, we want you to visit our favorite places in the Outer Banks first- the OBX Mystery Dinner & OBX Ghost Tours! But once you’re done there, we have another suggestion for you...check out the North Carolina Aquariums!

There are four convenient North Carolina Aquariums located throughout the Outer Banks- Roanoke Island, Pine Knoll Shores, Fort Fisher, and Jenette’s Pier! Wherever you decide to go, it’ll be a lot of fun for the whole family.

From seeing the largest group of sharks in the state, watching the sea turtle rehab process through the STAR (Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation) program, interacting with scuba divers, seeing alligators, touching stingrays, and watching otters interact with each other, there are plenty of fun opportunities at the aquariums!

There are both free and paid programs, depending on the location, to participate in throughout the day! For free, guests can enjoy Shipwreck Stories, Animal Feedings, Education Programs, and Educational Films! Programs such as Happy Otter Hour, Behind the Scenes Tour, Aquarist for a Day, Shark Bites, Otter Quarters Tour, Breakfast with the Rays, Shark Exhibit Tour, and many other experiences are all available for an additional charge!

To find out more information, head over to their website here! So what are you waiting for? Add the North Carolina Aquariums to your official OBX vacation bucket list today!
